Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Maclaite Labs LLP collects through this website, why we collect it, where it is stored, and what rights you have over it. We have written it to describe what this website actually does, rather than to cover every practice we might one day adopt.
1. Who we are
Maclaite Labs LLP (“Maclaite Labs”, “we”, “us”) is a limited liability partnership registered in India.
- LLPIN: ADA-9083
- Registered office: Kalyanagar, St. Thomas Town, Bangalore North, Bangalore - 560084, Karnataka, India
- Contact: hello@maclaitelabs.com
For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), Maclaite Labs LLP is the Data Fiduciary for personal data collected through this website.
2. What we collect
We collect personal data in one place only: the contact form on our contact page. When you submit it, we receive:
- your name
- your email address
- your company name, if you provide one
- the service you are interested in, if you select one
- the content of your message
Only your name, email address, and message are required. Company and service are optional.
We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies. This website does not profile visitors, does not track you across other websites, and sets no cookies for advertising or measurement. If you never submit the contact form, we do not collect personal data about you through this website.
Our web server, like most web servers, records standard technical request logs which may include IP addresses. These are used to operate and secure the service, not to identify or profile visitors.
3. Why we use it
We use the information you submit solely to read and respond to your enquiry, and to continue that conversation if it leads to a proposal or an engagement. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or automated decision-making.
Under the DPDP Act, our lawful basis is the consent you give by choosing to submit the form, for the stated purpose of responding to you.
4. Where your data is stored and processed
Please read this section carefully, as it involves the transfer of data outside India.
- Website hosting: this website runs on a server provided by DigitalOcean, located in Frankfurt, Germany. Your form submission is processed there.
- Email delivery: submissions are delivered to our inbox using Resend, an email delivery provider based in the United States.
- Our inbox: the resulting email is stored in our business email account.
This means personal data you submit is transferred to and processed in the European Union and the United States. By submitting the form, you consent to that transfer.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the service providers named in section 4, and only to the extent needed to deliver your enquiry to us. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
We may disclose personal data where required by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
6. How long we keep it
We retain contact enquiries for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted unless the enquiry has become an ongoing client relationship, in which case the relevant records are retained for the duration of that relationship and for as long as required by applicable tax and company law.
You may ask us to erase your enquiry sooner. See section 7.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or completed
- have your personal data erased
- withdraw your consent at any time
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity
- raise a grievance about how we handle your data
To exercise any of these, email hello@maclaitelabs.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and in any case as required by law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.
8. Grievance Officer
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you may contact our Grievance Officer:
- Grievance Officer, Maclaite Labs LLP
- hello@maclaitelabs.com
- Kalyanagar, St. Thomas Town, Bangalore North, Bangalore - 560084, Karnataka, India
If your grievance remains unresolved, you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Security
This website is served over HTTPS, and access to the systems holding enquiry data is restricted to the partners of the firm. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive personal information, credentials, or confidential material through the contact form.
10. Children
This website is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The version published on this page is the one currently in effect. Material changes affecting how we use your personal data will be communicated where we are able to reach you.
